diy customized coloring book

Hey everyone! 

Just wanted to quickly show you a fun & easy gift that your kiddo would love for Valentines Day! I made one of these customized coloring books for my little brother & sister for Christmas this year and they loved them! What kid wouldn't want a coloring book full of pictures of themselves? Plus it was super easy! 

First, I just stole a bunch of pictures off of their mom's facebook. You can do this by clicking into a picture, then clicking "options" then "download". {see photo below}

Save all of your photos to a folder and then open them in whatever photo editor you use. I used picasa for this project, which is free & super easy to use for basic edits. Open the picture in picasa, click on the link that is to the far right (the blue paintbrush) and then click on "pencil sketch". From there, you can play around with the settings so that it looks the most defined. 

Once you have saved a few, just print them off your regular printer and attach them to some thicker cardstock... you are done! So cute!

Here is the final project, complete with a new box of crayons! I sewed the edges together like binding and planned to put some sort of cover over it {biased tape would work great!} but I ended up liking it with just the thread. The thread wasn't that visible, but the book was really easy to open and I worried that a cover over it would make it harder! 

There you have it! I thought it turned out pretty cute. Although my little sister was a bit confused on how I knew they went to all the places in the pictures! I can't wait to see what they come up with after they are all colored :)
