Hey Everyone!
Sorry I'm a bit late on Colson's 5 month favorites! Let me tell you... 5-6 months old is a whole new ballgame! Colson is eating solids, sitting up on his own, army crawling.. ahh... time please slow down!
So here they are!
Clickable links below.
1. 3-In-1 Space Saver Highchair (different print): This is a great highchair if you have a smaller house like we do. Although, even if we had a large kitchen, I sort of despise the look of highchairs so I'd probably still stick with this. It fits perfectly on our ikea kitchen chairs & it reclines so they can sit in it when they're younger. We actually started putting C in this around 3 1/2 months so he could sit at the table and play with toys while we ate dinner. At 6 1/2 months now he is sitting with it straight up. I also love the colors since my house is accented with taupe. The only downside I feel is that it doesn't have a detachable liner that snaps into the tray, which would make it much easier to clean!
2. Luv-U-Zoo Jumperoo: I mentioned before that Colson wasn't quite sure about this... well, the time has come and he has mastered the "crazy jump". I prefer him jumping in the jumperoo, but he is satisfied jumping while you are holding him, while nursing & while being rocked {sideways of course, trying to rocket-launch himself off the side of the chair... awesome}. If you follow me on instagram, you have seen that he fell asleep in it 3 days in a row. Ridiculous! But so much fun!
3. Melaleuca Renew Body Lotion: Winter hit hard here & Colson got exzema :( He had itchy rashes all over & was scratching his scalp/belly so much that he'd bleed. I tried so many creams and none worked! My grandma swears by this stuff, so she gave me a bottle & in 2 days Colson was smooth & no rashes. I have never seen a change like that & I now swear by this stuff! It is not baby lotion, but Melaleuca products are known for being natural & safe with no weird chemicals in them and it's perfectly gentle for babies. (I also researched this before using it). We also like aquaphor, but it is so greasy and doesn't stay on long.
4. Motorola Baby Monitor: I am not going to get into a long story about baby monitors because everyone has their preferences, but long story short, we had a Summer monitor & after several friends Summer monitors randomly quit working, I looked on the Summer facebook site (click "recent posts by others")to see that this was a hugely common issue with no resolution. So I took mine back & got this Motorola monitor. Let me just say, I never realized that one was vidoe monitor could be better than the other, but this thing rocks! It's so clear I can literally see Colson breathing on it, which is great for a psycho mom like me. It is especially great because at the end of 5 months C started sleeping on his tummy, which I am NOT a fan of... but this makes it a little better. Amazon also carries pretty awesome reviews, but please note that if you buy the step down of this model it does not have the zoom & pan option, which is super nice to have! The downside: the battery life isn't that long, but I just leave it plugged in overnight & it's fine.
5. Lamaze Moose Teether: C got this from his grandma for Christmas & it's a favorite chew toy. We have no teeth yet, but you wouldn't believe it the way he chomps on this thing. Also any toy with a ring clip gets an extra 5 points in my book since C also started throwing everything. Boys are wild, I tell ya.
6. Nuby Sippy Cups: Colson knew what to do with this thing the first time I gave it to him. He loves to hold on to it and suck on the top, although he doesn't get anything out unless I help him tip it back. The downside to these is that they don't have a lid like the Tommee Tippee ones. Also, I have had some leaking problems, but I have yet to find a review of a sippy cup that DOESN'T leak... so we will take it!
If you have a blog & write monthly favorites, leave the link below! I love reading these & have bought several things after seeing them trend on other mom blogs! And as always, 6-7 favorites ideas are more than welcome!
PS- Just had to add in a bit of my boy from church today!
pants & tie: h&m
button up shirt: the children's place
{eyes half closed thanks to the flash}

Love Renew my boys have exzema too and we only use that stuff!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one!! My whole family couldn't believe how fast it works! And we only have to lotion once a day... rather than the every diaper change I was doing before!
DeleteAny advice on how to get my almost 6 month old to take a sippy cup i gave it to him and he lost it lol.
ReplyDeleteI just held it up for him the first couple of times so he knew he was supposed to suck on it & pretty soon he grabbed it and wanted to do it himself! I do have to fill it pretty full because he doesn't really know how to tip it back far enough yet.
DeleteOtherwise I have heard a lot of moms say that cups w/straws work better! I just bought one at target the other day that has a rubbery/bendable straw with a filter over the top so they can't suck out too much. He's only used it twice but so far he loves it & it doesn't spill so huge plus in my book!
Also the one I got wasn't in the baby section, it was on an end cap by the cooking supplies & was for valentines day I believe.
DeleteRenew is the only lotion that doesn't break my babies skin out! We love it! Also, thanks for the review of the monitor, I will be looking into one!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how well it works! My pediatrician even told me today that he's heard lots of moms say it works great on exzema! Good luck with the monitor!
DeleteAh I would have loved that moose for Hud!
