Flying Bats! Halloween Wreath

Hello fall. I'm glad you've decided to join us. You are my favorite season and I've been looking for an excuse to start up my fall traditions.

Number one on the list was buying my first pumpkin spice latte. Number two was burning this delicious pumpkin buttercream candle. And the combination of yummy drinks & yummy smells immediately put me in the mood to make this new wreath:
The wreath was inspired by this pin. Pinning is my newest addiction and if you haven't followed me on pinterest you can do so here. {Or leave me a comment with your link so I can follow you!}

So onto the tutorial!

 Supplies:
wreath form
yellow & black felt
hot glue

scissors
gray yarn

See how difficult it is to take pictures around here? She scooted her little butt right in front of my camera lens. Yes, she is quite the attention seeker.

First I wrapped my wreath form in yarn. I paid the extra $2.00 to get this really thick yarn and thank the lord I did. The last yarn wreath I did took at least 3 times as long as this did. This one was really quick. I started & finished the entire thing during the grey's anatomy premier :)

Then I found an outline of a bat online. You could probably draw it, but I cannot. I have zero drawing skill. So if you're like me, click here for the website that has this simple drawing for you.
When you come to the link you can click "Edit this Image" and it will bring it up in your editor. You can resize it to fit your wreath. I did it the super technical way, by holding my wreath up to the computer screen.
Then I took a piece of thick cardstock and laid it on top of the computer screen. The light shined through making it really easy to trace.

Dear husband,
If you are reading this, I am sorry that I used your computer for this project. I knew you wouldn't approve. But my computer was downstairs and yours was just sitting right there on the counter, unused. But I promise, I pressed very lightly & used a very thick piece of paper. And I bet you haven't even noticed.
Love,
 your wife.

I cut out my bat & traced it onto the black felt with a sharpie pen. I also cut a circle for the moon & 2 small triangles for the bat eyes from the yellow felt.
I put a big strip of hot glue on the top of the bat head so that it would stand up and not flop over.

I hot glued them both to the wreath and here is the final product! Super easy & I love it!!
And for those of you who read this post and were irritated by my lack of a wreath hanger, I finally did it! I bought a wreath hanger and did not have to scotch tape this to the top of my door. Best $2 ever spent.

Can't wait to see what other fall decor you guys have out there!!
And if you still haven't entered my vinyls giveaway, you have ONE more day. I will be drawing the winner tomorrow night so click HERE to win a whole bunch of vinyl decals!!!
