there once was an ugly wreath...

seriously. ugly.
see... i had this great idea to wrap a wreath in white yarn {ok, it wasn't my idea. but i tried to jump on the wreath-wrapping-bandwagon}
except i didn't take into account that i have a white front door.
see where i'm going?
it blended in & made my door look all yellowish... it was just so ugly. i tried to help it by adding some cute felt flowers and it just got uglier. i didn't even post it because it was just that bad.
but for some reason, it wasn't bad enough for me to take it off my front door until two months later.
here's to hoping my neighbors aren't too judgemental of my front door decor.
anyway, i finally got to replacing it. mostly because i was outside spray painting & i found this frame stashed away. it was a cheap thrift store frame that i tried painting it last summer but was too impatient and laid the spray paint on a little too thick {like i normally do}... which made it get all bubbly around the corners.
 see what i mean? do as i say, not as i do: do not hold the spray paint can 3 inches away from the intended target... even if it does make the job go faster.
i made tiny flowers from tissue paper {but i didn't have any turquoise, so these ones are made out of a cheap gift bag}. i'm confident you do not need me to show you how to do this, but just in case you'd rather skim the pictures than read {like i often do}...

here they all are along with a little "m" my maid of honor used to decorate at my bachelorette party {i think it's from michaels}.

side note: i finally got my name changed just one day before our mn government shut down. talk about waiting til the last minute! i'm finally mrs. m. {thus the "m" door decor}. let's pray our government decides to settle it's differences and open back up so i can get a new ss card, all our state parks can open back up, people can get their state insurance back, etc.
i hot glued them to try & cover up the paint bubbles. only burned myself once!
 i took off the original ribbon because it wasn't long enough & glued this one on along with a little green one in the front.

 and done!
 i used the ribbon from super-ugly-wreath because i still haven't gotten a real door hanger. don't worry, it's on my shopping list. but this one is just a long ribbon that i taped on the top of the door with a couple of layers of scotch tape and it's worked like a charm.
i actually love it... after 3 months of hating our door, i'm satisfied. i don't know why i didn't do that sooner!
