So there are only six weeks until my wedding! Which means only six more weeks of wedding projects and six more weeks til I will be back to home-decoring it up! {and trust me, my 'to do' list is pages long}
ahhh... thanks for your patience :-)
Anyway, see this cute girl just hammin it up? She is my sister. YES, I have a 4 year old sister. So she naturally took the role of the cutest flower girl. everrrrr.
I've been seeing all these cute "flower girl" t-shirts to get for the rehearsal dinner.... but did you see that girl? I don't think she's going to appreciate being forced to wear a tshirt at any point in this wedding when she could be "fancy". So out with the tshirt and in with the pageant-girl sash!
All you need is a craft cutter, ribbon and a scissors. For the ribbon, I used a durable ribbon that was 2 1/2 inches thick. It came from michaels for 3.50 (40% off) but there is tons of it! It is almost like a vinyl type of material, so it will hold through anything!
I used my silhouette with the font "Not His Angel" {free from kevinandamanda.com}.
Anyone else have a computer from the 80's like me??? I could really use a mac.
I almost never use transfer paper. I have it, but I just don't use it. I find that on most surfaces the silhouette vinyl works perfectly fine without it because it is stretchy and thin.
I just plop the whole piece of vinyl down and rub in the letters/designs really well. Then I peel back the outside border back, pulling it down as far as it will go towards the original surface.
{i'm very thankful i have a picture of this because i have a feeling that sentence makes no sense at all!!}
Done!
I added a little bow with some hot glue and here it is! I think it'll be so cute on little miss flower girl.
This whole project took about 10 minutes. tops.
My mom and I also made one for her bff's 40th birthday that said "40 and Fabulous!". I don't have any pictures of that one, but it turned out really cute as well!
I'll post pictures after the big day so you can see this little baby in action!!
Here's where I'm linking up today!
Love it!!! And I personally love the wedding posts...I can't wait to see pictures of the wedding in SIX WEEKS! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteAND...YOU'RE THE SWEETEST GIRL EVER!!! I got the vinyl in the mail this week, and I just couldn't stop smiling! Even my hubby admitted that was really nice (and he's not too impressed with blogging haha). I can't wait to use them and link to you...thanks soooo much for being a total sweetie!! :)
Just discovered your blog and it's awesome! I will definitely be reading through your archives later :) PS- I have the same computer lol, a new Mac Book would be much nicer! I'm tempted to buy the Silhouette too, but gotta convince the hubby of the "investment"!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea!!! I never would've thought of this!!! Definitely going back through all your wedding posts now! :)
ReplyDeleteI am dying to know how you got the letters on the sash! I kept reading it over and over but I still don't understand.. Ugggh. Im sorry. Can you explain it in more detail. Thanks sooooo much:-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry it's confusing!! I used silhouette vinyl so it just stuck right on to the ribbon/sash! You could also probably mod podge it on if you didn't have any vinyl!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I have what is maybe a silly question. How did you attach the ribbon together to make the sash itself? Did you sew it? I want to try this, but I am not super-adept at sewing so I was thinking maybe you could hot glue it together?
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Nice work!!
Sorry it took so long to reply! I had to go back & read the post because I honestly forgot how I did it.. but I definitely didn't sew it! I just hot glued the insides together. Super easy!! Good luck!
