simple changes

I was in the mood to change things the other day! I think I will drive the man crazy with my incessant need to redecorate things that I just put there 8 months ago. But I try my best to convince him that it will make things prettier and we'll always be the "still hip" parents :-)

I had these little jars in my bathroom holding the cotton balls and Qtips. They were annoying me because the top always got really dusty and spotty, no matter how many times I cleaned it! So I went to my stash to see what else I could use.
I found these little circle vases that I got for 10 cents each at the Thrift Store. They had over 10 of them and I'm SO mad at myself for only buying 2.The candle holder is one that comes in a set of 2 at the Dollar Tree.
First, I glued the candle holder to the vase using E-6000. I usually use Gorilla Glue, but the one thing I don't like about it is that it dries yellow and you can see it through the glass. It also expands a lot, so you can see the yellow goop coming out the bottom. So this was my first try with E-6000 and it worked perfectly and dried clearly.. I think I'll be sticking with that for a while!
{don't worry about that ugly pink bookend. That was another thrift store find that will be getting painted ASAP.}
I wrapped jute around it because jute makes everything look prettier! I added the smallest dab of hot glue to the back side and didn't glue anywhere else. I wrapped really tight so it'd stay up on it's own.
and done!
I told you it was really simple! But the perfect 10 minute project when you're having the itch to change something!!
Love my new jars! I could go on and on but I better run... my dog is standing by the door and growling at me...... you know what that means!!

ps. the man & i are registering tomorrow. any ideas?? i just know i'll forget something or register for the same thing twice!

{psssst. i'm partying here this week:}
