Monogram Coasters

I know, I know... more coasters! But you can never have enough! I made these quick & easy tile coasters for our poor basement that has virtually no decorations! I'm working on it.. slowly but surely! By this summer the man cave will be decorated!
Anyway, I don't have a photo tutorial because this is so darn easy!
All you need is:
4x4 square tiles {mine were from the restore for 20 cents/tile!}
scrapbook paper
mod podge
distressing ink
spray sealer {optional}
felt & hot glue gun or chair pads
 All I did was cut a square of paper slightly smaller than 4x4. I distressed the edges with antique distressing ink. Then I mod podged the paper onto the tiles, getting out all of the bubbles. I printed off the "M"'s on my Cricut with shimmer paper and mod podged them on top of it all. AFTER it was all dry, I put a thick coat of mod podge over the entire thing.

You could add a coat of spray sealer over the top to make it water proof, depending on how durable you want these to be. The mod podge will hold up if your glasses don't sweat a lot.
Usually when I make coasters, I cut out circles of felt and hot glue them to the bottom for protection. But I happened to have some leftover chair pads that were really thin so I stuck them to the bottom. They were perfect and much less tedious than cutting & gluing all that felt!
These would be a perfect gift wrapped in some jute!
 And perfect for the new "married woman" mug!!
{can i technically use these since i am neither a mrs. nor a meyer yet?? :)...}

Thanks for stopping!

  1. What a great idea for a wedding gift, awesome timing because I have to come up with one in two weeks, this will be it, thanks. I am working do you thing a thicker paper would work..... because I have some pretty thicker card stock paper with flowers on it..... do you think it would work ok, or does it have to be really thin paper?
