mr. & mrs. mugs

i'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
with severe, sincere apologies for the lack of posting so far in 2011.
big. giant. blogger. fail.

i really have no excuses other than a new job and extreme anxiety over this wedding that is coming in t-minus 3 {!!three!!} months.
it hit me this month... all that i have left to do and the little time i have left to do it. but all is well and there will be lots of wedding posts soon!

SO anyway... onto the point. I have a bunch of weddings & showers coming up so I'm trying to stay ahead of the game with gifts. This easy craft requires only $2 {and a craft cutter}.

I bought these boring black mugs at the $1 tree.
I used my silhouette to type out mr & mrs. The heart is one that already comes in the silhouette library for free. I used the font cambria and made them each 1.5 inches wide.
Here it is in action... I know you probably don't really care to see this. But I am just still so amazed that you don't need to use a cutting mat for the vinyl!
Here is the final product! A cute little pair of mugs for the new mr & mrs.
I would highly suggest using the transfer paper for delicate little pieces like this... Unfortunately, I did not take my own advice. I will definitely be more patient next time because it was a pain in that youknowwhat to get all those little "m"'s straight.
Thanks for stopping by! Now, I am going to spend the rest of my night checking out all of the awesome blogs that I've missed since going MIA. I'll be back soon! Promise.

  10. A great alternative to transfer paper (that gets SUPER DUPER expensive) is contact paper!! I used it with my recent project...

and it worked like a charm!
