Berry Beady Wreath Tutorial

Photobucket
We decided to go with Blue & Silver decor this year.. which seemed like a great idea when I bought it all last year. But now I can't find anything blue & silver... so of course, I've ended up making all of my decor.
{Luckily, this tree & all it's fixin's were clearance last year the day after Christmas!}

First, I started out with the medium sized wreath and these silver berries from Michaels. They were on sale for $1/bunch and the whole project took about 8 of them.

I used a craft wire cutter to snip the ends off. I found that it worked best when there was about 1 cm left of the stem.

Then I poked them all into the wreath. Most of them stayed, but I did keep my glue gun on because every once in a while I needed to glue them to keep them secure.

Once I was done, I looped some ribbon through it and hung it over our family room mirror.
(**Please excuse my dirty mirror. The light is not very forgiving **)

I love how it turned out!! I ended up running out of berries in the back, but you can't tell from the front or the sides.

On an unrelated note: Any suggestions for a quality {non point&shoot} camera? I don't know much about them, but my point & shoot is from highschool {embarrassing} and I want to upgrade to a "real" camera! :-)

Let me know your thoughts!! Thanks for stopping by!
I'll be back for a week full of Christmas decor but til then, I'm linking to these amazing {and mainly holiday} parties:

  6. Very cute! I'm amazed that it only took 8 picks- I've never tried something like this because I thought the stick-ons would cost too much. But now, well, I'm inspired!!

  8. i'm having a "blue (and silver) Christmas" this year too! i found some great ornaments from Martha Stewart's Kmart line. i think it looks so classy... and so does that wreath! i might have to "borrow" that idea.

    as far as a camera -- i had a nikon d40 and then upgraded to a d3000. they are a bit heavier than a canon, but very user friendly.
