This year in MN we are having quite the Indian Summer. A year ago today it was snowing and the high was 37 degrees... the last two days our high was 90! Talk about a difference! Anyway, I am taking advantage of it and finishing all of my painting projects that I've been procrastinating on.
I got this cute stool at Goodwill for 3.99. I'd been looking for a stool EVERYWHERE because I can't reach my top cupboards in my kitchen. I actually did like the look of it before, but it was just really beat up and I wanted it to match my kitchen more.
I primed and painted it white and distressed the edges a bit with some sandpaper.
Then I mod podged fabric to the top... I seriously chose the worst possible fabric to use. It kept fraying. But I couldn't find anything else I liked. Scrapbook paper would have been ideal for this!
But I love how it turned out! It matches my kitchen perfectly.
Hope you're all enjoying fall. The REAL fall, none of this 90 degree weather :)

Oh my gosh..SO CUTE!! The cabinets in my kitchen are super high too. I bought a small step stool at the dollar tree but it is a little flimsy. lol I have a step stool I got at a yardsale for 50 cents that I'm def. going to have to fix up! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great stool! That fabric is really cute and I love it against the white. I have a regular stool in the kitchen - now I'm thinking about decorating it up!! :)
